In preparation for their recently completed, second full-length album Quantum Catastrophe, Santa Cruz, CA technical death metalers BRAIN DRILL have completely redesigned their MySpace page to feature the cover art created by Par Olofsson (www.parolofsson.se). In addition to the complete overhaul of the band's page, BRAIN DRILL have also posted the new track Monumental Failure.
Bassist Ivan Munguia comments; "Monumental Failure has a couple of the most mosh inducing riffs on the new album Quantum Catastrophe, but it also showcases the direction we are heading in terms of songwriting. Monumental Failure was one of the first songs written for the Quantum Catastrophe so in a way, we're easing listeners into some of the more complex songs that we wrote."
In other news; BRAIN DRILL recently shot footage for their first music video for the upcoming album Quantum Catastrophe for the track Beyond Bludgeoned. The video was shot in the middle of nowhere near Birds Landing close to the San Joaquin Delta/Rio Vista, CA and was directed by Nikko DeLuna and shot by Justin Potter.
Bassist Ivan Munguia comments; "This guy that Nikko knows had a hookup that let us onto this utility company owned land. There was a dilapidated old house and some pretty cool scenery so we figured it was a good spot to shoot. We picked Beyond Bludgeoned as the first video because we feel it's one of the strongest songs on the album and showcased everyone's contributions to the album."

Quantum Catastrophe will be available in Europe May 7th / 10th. More information including track listing, will be announced in the months leading up to the release of Quantum Catastrophe!

BRAIN DRILL:
Dylan Ruskin - guitar
Steve Rathjen - vocals
Ivan Munguia - bass
Ron Casey - drums

AEON complete work on new album 'Path Of Fire'! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Janusz
Tuesday, 09 March 2010 21:47
Swedish satanic Death Metallers AEON have completed the work on their new album Path Of Fire!
Path Of Fire was recorded at the Empire Studio in Östersund / Sweden in September 2009 and mixed at Mana Studio / St. Petersburg, Florida by Erik Rutan in October 2009. Some minor changes were made in January 2010. The mastering was done by Alan Douches for West West Side Music in New York. All artwork and layout made by Daniel Dlimi.
Comments the band: "We are happy to announce the album is finished by now. Path of Fire is probably the most intense Aeon album up to date. And with a production that sounds more organic and "classic deathmetal" rather then the nowadays typical "supermodern, compressed right-the-fuck-out of dynamics, loudness war" production…you are all in for a real treat. Folks…this IS death metal! Needless to say, we are really happy with how the album turned out and and we can't wait for you to get a chance to listen to it."
Path Of Fire will be released later this year by Metal Blade Records. More album details and release dates will be announced later on so keep your eyes open.
